Dheergayu Program is a natural wellness program based on ancient wisdom to activate our body’s extraordinary ability to heal itself by balancing ‘Pancha Bootas’ and by cleansing and nurturing ‘Pancha Koshas’.
What are Pancha bootas?
In Vedic philosophy, the concept of Pancha Bootas is referred to as the five basic elements that are believed to constitute the physical world. These elements are considered to be the building blocks for all existence.
The five ‘Pancha Bhootas’ are:
1] Earth: Represents the solid state of matter. It is associated with stability, firmness and the sense of smell.
2] Water: Represents the liquid state of matter. It is associated with fluidity, adaptability and the sense of taste.
3] Fire: Represents the energy and heat. It is associated with transformation, digestion and the sense of sight.
4] Air: Represents the gaseous state of matter. It is associated with movement, flexibility and the sense of touch.
5] Ether or Space: Represents the space or vacuum that accommodates the other elements. It is associated with the sense of hearing.
These elements are not just physical substances but also symbolic representations of various qualities and aspects of human beings and the universe.
The concept of Pancha Bootas is integral to several ancient philosophies and the Indian System of Medicine: AYURVEDA.
The idea is to maintain a balance and harmony of these elements for overall well-being and a healthy life.
What are Pancha Koshas?
In Vedic literature, the concept of ‘Pancha Koshas’ refers to the five sheaths or layers that encapsulate and define the human being, both physically and emotionally. These layers are considered to be successive layers, each cover the one beneath it. They represent different aspects of the self.
The five ‘Pancha Koshas’ are:
1] Annamaya Kosha: Annam means food; soft nutritious food that is enjoyable and tasty. Such food not only contributes to a healthy life but also brings happiness and good health while providing satisfaction. This is the outermost layer that corresponds to the physical body. It is associated with the physical aspects of existence, including the body’s organs, tissues and cells. This layer is sustained by the food we eat.
2] Pranamaya Kosha: This layer is associated with the life force (Prana) that animates the physical body.
This layer governs the various physiological functions and is closely linked to the breath and the flow of energy in the body.
3] Manomaya Kosha: This layer is related the mind (manas). It encompasses thoughts, emotions, desires and mental process. It is proven today that a healthy mind is important for overall health and well-being. Balancing this Kosha can help people cope with health challenges and recover from it. This layer is responsible for the experiences within and fluctuations of the mind.
4] Vijnanamaya Kosha: This layer is associated with intellect and wisdom (Vijnana). It goes beyond the lower mental functions and involves higher cognitive processes, knowledge and decision-making.
5] Anandamaya Kosha: Anandamaya Kosha represents the innermost layer, the true self, associated with Ananda (Bliss). It is a state of mind, demonstrating self confidence and a profound sense of joy and contentment.
Dheergayu Program restores the body’s incredible ability to heal itself. An abundance of nutrients from various fresh organic food is consumed daily at specific time and in specific quantity providing the health seeker with an appropriate dose of enzymes, minerals and nutrients that are easily absorbed and assimilated.
The use of advanced technology and research in the field of healthcare is responsible for the increasing lifespan of healthy individuals significantly. However, people living several centuries ago did not enjoy these modern benefits. They relied solely on natural ways to keep good health and enjoy a robust life.
During the Dheergayu program, oxygenation is normally more than doubled through Pranayama (Breathing techniques) at specific times during the day. The metabolism is also stimulated naturally.
An oxygen deficiency in the blood contributes to many degenerative diseases. With generous, high quality, organic foods specially prepared fresh, increases oxygen availability, detoxification and improved metabolism, the cells and tissues can regenerate and become healthy.
By addressing the root cause of most of the diseases, i.e. Toxicity and Nutritional Deficiency, Dheergayu program effectively treats a wide range of different ailments.
Meditation & Yoga is also taught during your stay with us. These practices have been proven effective in relieving built up stress and negative emotions from our minds. Just as specific foods and lifestyle adjustments help cleanse our bodies from within, meditation and Yoga works to cleanse our minds and nourish our well being. When we are emotionally, mentally and physically healthy, it becomes easier to heal ourselves.
Fasting is another practice observed during Dheergayu Program. Fasting is also considered as a method of maintaining diet. Nutritious food and eating habits and abstaining from food for a specific period does not harm our body. In fact, it provides the needed rest for our system to cleanse itself.
Some studies suggest that fasting, which involves cycling between periods of eating and fasting, can stimulate the process of Autophagy.
Autophagy is a natural cellular process that occurs in the body, and it is primarily regulated by the body’s internal signals in response to various conditions, such as nutrient availability, energy levels, stress and certain lifestyle factors that will support or enhance the autophagic process. This plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular homeostasis, removing damaged or dysfunctional cellular components, and adapting to various stress conditions. It is involved in various physiological processes, including development, immunity and the response to environmental changes. Recent research suggests that autophagy may have implications for various health conditions, including neurodegenerative diseases, Cancer, autoimmune and metabolic disorders.
The idea behind fasting is to demonstrate that maintaining a diet is not about portion control but also about the timing. Finding the balance between the types of food we consume and when we eat them can greatly impact our health and contributes to our well-being.
As a result, all organs work together, contributing to boosting the body’s immunity. We create an environment that supports the body’s natural healing abilities because nature has endowed us with intelligence, for self-healing.
Meditation
After yoga and pranayama comes meditation. Through pranayama practice we learn how to control our breathing. This breath control also brings about control allowing us to manage our thoughts gradually over time. As we continue practicing meditation both our mind and body experience a sense of calmness.
